Founded in 1858, the YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago cooperates with public service providers, government agencies, churches and neighborhood associations to encourage individual achievement and improve the quality of life. The organization s sports programs include basketball, volleyball, baseball, softball, soccer and progressive gymnastics. The YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago additionally organizes camps that include arts and crafts, field trips, skits and other recreational activities.
