This location is acts as the Huntley Fire Department's headquarters and is also its oldest station. Located in the downtown area, Fire Station #1 holds the administrative offices and conducts community training. The Huntley Fire Protection District covers a 55 mile area that includes the village of Huntley, portions of the Village of Algonquin, Hampshire, Lake in the Hills, portions of unincorporated Kane and McHenry counties and a nine mile stretch of Interstate 90. The fire department is in the process of building a fourth station on Square Barn Road in Algonquin that is expected to be completed by late 2011.
