Mother McAuley Liberal Arts High School is a Catholic educational community that provides secondary education to young women. It is sponsored by the Sisters of Mercy organization, which has been educating young women since 1846. The high school offers various academic courses, including theology, English, mathematics, science, foreign languages, social studies, physical education, art history and music. It has an online library that provides access to its electronic subscriptions, encyclopedias, dictionaries, search engines, newspapers and magazines. The high school also provides various interscholastic sports activities, including volleyball, soccer, softball, track and field, water polo, tennis, cross country, swimming, golf and basketball. It is a member of the Girls Catholic Athletic Conference and the Illinois High School Association, which is the sanctioning body for interscholastic high school athletic competitions in Illinois.
