Methodist Youth Services, also known as MYS, is a nonprofit child welfare agency that serves homeless, abused and neglected youths. Established in 1965, the agency offers assistance with the development of decision making, leadership and independent living skills. It provides vocational training, individual counseling and community outreach programs. Methodist Youth Services also offers independent living services for young men and women transitioning from foster care. The agency provides nutritional assessment, career counseling and household management services. In addition, it offers substance abuse evaluation and domestic violence prevention programs. Methodist Youth Services is accredited by the Council on Accreditation and licensed by the state of Illinois. The agency is located in Chicago.
