In 1919, with one moving truck, Economy Moving & Transfer Company began operations. Thirty-four years later, Edward Marx purchased the company from his father. In 1982, after the moving industry was deregulated, Marx established New World Van Lines. Marx was one of the first to introduce the idea of a single crew service that used only full-time, uniformed employees and the exclusive use of company owned equipment in lieu of owner operators. The company offers its customers a variety of services, such as personal move coordinators, single service crews that handles entire moves, safe and secure storage facility options and unpacking services. New World Van Lines has locations throughout the United States, including its headquarters in Chicago.
