History
The Quixotic story began in 2011 at Grace Lutheran Church. The objectives were to give youth employment skills and an opportunity to earn money for mission trips and other activities. By 2014, the demands on the kitchen made the ministry no longer a good fit for the church and Quixotic Bakery closed but during its brief history over forty youth benefited from the program and nearly $7,000 were added to youth accounts. Later that year, at the urging of the youth and with the permission of the church, our family registered Quixotic Bakery as a home cottage business. In 2016, we were accepted into Rockford City Market. It's always been our dream for Quixotic Bakery to grow to the point where we can return to our original vision and hire youth. In 2019, that goal became a reality as we opened our first retail location in the newly refurbished Indoor City Market and hired our first employees. Know that every purchase helps a young person gain confidence and earn their way to their dreams!
