History
In the 1930s, the Levings family donated their farm to the Rockford Park District. Not long after, the creek that ran through the property was dammed and dug out by 700 men to make Levings Lake. Since then the park has gone through a number of changes over the years, but ultimately has been the location for countless picnics, bbq's, family gatherings, live music, and much more. It truly is one of Rockford's most beautiful parks located conveniently off of bypass 20. In 2014, West Rock partnered with the Rockford Park District to create West Rock Wake Park--a cable water ski park that removes the need for a boat, allowing all walks of life the opportunity to enjoy this timeless sport. Bring your skis, kneeboard, or just a suit and towel and we have everything you need for a great day on the lake!
