Hoosier Energy, a Touchstone Energy cooperative , is a generation and transmission cooperative providing wholesale electric power and services to more than 15 member electric distribution cooperatives in 48 central and southern Indiana counties. High-voltage electric power is delivered over a system of 1,400 miles of transmission lines, 14 primary substation facilities and more than 200 distribution substations and delivery points. Interconnections link Hoosier Energy with other major utilities in Indiana and neighboring states. The Hoosier Energy Power Network consists of the 17 member cooperatives and Hoosier Energy. Collectively, it provides electricity and related services to nearly 700,000 residents, businesses, industries and farms in a 15,000-square-mile service territory in the southern half of Indiana.
