Established in 1984, The Breeders' Cup World Championship is a season-ending championship of thoroughbred racing. The championship has a number of divisions, including classic, turf, distaff, mile, sprint, filly and mare turf, juvenile and juvenile fillies. The Breeders' Cup World Championships is held at a different racetrack in North America on a rotating basis. The Breeders' Cup Trophy is a bronze reproduction of the Torrie horse. It awards the owners, breeders, trainers and jockeys of each winning horse with the replicas of the Breeders' Cup Trophy.
