Established in 1861 by the Sisters of the Poor of St. Francis in Cincinnati, St. Elizabeth Medical Center provides a variety of health care services to residents throughout northern Kentucky, as well as portions of southwestern Ohio and southeastern Indiana. Its services include cancer care, cardiac care, diabetes care, birthing, home care, parish nursing, pastoral care, pulmonary rehabilitation, sleep disorder treatment, audiology, sports medicine and therapy. St. Elizabeth Medical Center is located in Covington, Ky. It is sponsored by the Diocese of Covington. HealthGrades, a health care quality company, has given the center its Distinguished Hospital Award for Clinical Excellence, which places it among the top 5 percent of all acute-care hospitals in the United States.
