Stephanie A. Merimee, M.D., is a hand and upper extremity surgeon with Norton Louisville Arm & Hand. She earned her medical degree from the University of Louisville School of Medicine. She completed her residency in orthopedic surgery at the University of South Florida and Florida Orthopaedic Institute in Tampa, and her fellowship in hand surgery at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. She was led to orthopaedic surgery because of her own experiences with injury as a young athlete, and she wanted to make a career of helping others return to the activities they love. As a hand surgeon, her goal is to provide quality patient-centered care that considers the whole person rather than just the diagnosis or injury. She specializes in the full spectrum of hand and upper extremity surgery, including arthritis, overuse injuries, fracture care, sports injuries and nerve repair. In her spare time, Dr. Merimee enjoys spending time with her family. A Louisville native, she grew up playing volleyball and now enjoys playing sand volleyball whenever she gets the chance.
