UofL Health Care is an academic, research and teaching medical center. Formed in 1999, UofL Health Care has roots dating back to 1823 when Louisville Hospital opened its doors. The company s facilities include a burn center, cancer center and eye center, sleep disorder center, geriatrics center, stroke center and a women s health center. UofL Health Care is a family of health care facilities associated with the University of Louisville, such as University Hospital, which has more than 400 beds; The James Graham Brown Cancer Center, which offers outpatient cancer treatment; University Physician Associates, with nearly 100 physicians and 150 health care professionals on staff; and Kentucky Lions Eye Center, an outpatient eye care center. UofL Health Care is headquartered in Louisville, Ky.
