The Episcopal Diocese of Maryland, as old as the first English settlements in the Chesapeake Bay Region in the 1630s, is a Christian community of congregations and individuals who work for justice and peace within the church and the world. It makes evangelism central to the life and identity of each congregation and individual and the diocese as a whole. It encourages sharing resources among its congregations. The diocese also encourages local congregations to support educational institutions for people of all ages. The Episcopal Diocese of Maryland is based in Baltimore.
