The Nichols-Bethel United Methodist Church opened in 1962, but the roots of this Odenton congregation date back to 1872.
The church offers two traditional Christian services each Sunday as well as a contemporary service with live music. There are also two adult choirs, a youth choir, handbell choir and other musical and singing groups.
Programs include vacation Bible school, worship groups for men, women and children, a nursery school, camping ministry and softball team. Ken Humbert is the pastor and Linda Coolbaugh serves as the associate pastor.
The cemetery for Nichols-Bethel is located about a half-mile west on Annapolis Road.
Nichols-Bethel is an active participant in the Christian Assistance Program. Twice a week, the church opens its doors to give out clothing to area families in need.
