Since 1935, the Ipswich Shellfish Company has been one of the leaders in the seafood industry. George Pappas and Joe Sikora founded the company during the Great Depression. They opened a processing plant and purchased two small, refrigerated trucks and began delivering clams, lobsters, scallops and oysters directly to area restaurants. Ipswich Shellfish Company has expanded and employs more than 350 people working at several state-of-the-art plants throughout New England. The company offers hundreds of different seafood products to customers up and down the eastern seaboard. Products include fresh and frozen fish, clams, shrimp, scallops, lobster, crab, oysters and mussels, plus poultry and pasta products. Ipswich Shellfish Company is anchored in Ipswich, Mass.
