HistoryI started cleaning houses in 1979 in order to be home when my children weren't in school. It grew like a butterfly bursting from its cocoon. So fast that there were four teams by fall. Getting in & out of customer houses in an average hour was very appealing to them. But it also offered intensified cleaning by having each person either do vacuuming, dusting, kitchen or bathrooms--with a refreshing break in between houses. The job itself especially appealed to parents of school children, retirees & college students who could work the hours around their classes.
