Capital Area Humane Society, founded in 1936 and located in Lansing, Mich., is a nonprofit, charitable animal welfare organization providing various services for animals. The society serves more than 40,000 people and over 7,000 animals annually. Capital Area Humane Society offers various services, such as animal adoption, medical transportation, pet foster care programs, group dog obedience training classes and services for schools and community groups. It also offers donated pet supplies, such as collars, leashes, dog and cat toys and training treats. Its community partners include Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine's Veterinary Technician Program, Leader Dog for the Blind and Hope Network and Peckham.
