Located on the west side of Berkley, Church of the King was founded in 2001 by six students who raised funds and awareness through door-to-door surveys, children's ministry, community involvement and Bible study, which resulted in 25 members opening day. This church has a variety of programs, including Sunday School at 9:30am and Sunday church services at 10:45am. Church of the King’s children’s program, Kingz Kidz, includes bible lessons and a variety of other activities. Teen programs include music, games and a variety of lessons. There is also a nursery where young children can learn bible stories, enjoy snacks, games and crafts, and receive personal ministry from the children's pastor, Jennifer Galindo. Parents receive a beeper when they drop their children off in case they need to be alerted during the service. The children’s programs are divided by age and include infants through fifth grade. Men’s and women’s programs are also available. These programs include charity events, social trips, bible study, and other special or seasonal events. Church of the King also has sermons, articles and RSS media available for downloading from its website.
