Founded in 1990, Michigan Nonprofit Association is a statewide network representing the nonprofit sector and serving as a resource center on effective management practices and as an advocate for the nonprofit community. With nearly 1,000 members, the association is a think tank that provides direct advocacy and services to local nonprofit organizations. It delivers products and services pertaining to five key areas: finance, administration (including technology), program, governance and networking (including advocacy, strategic partnerships and collaboration). Though primarily serving nonprofit enterprises, the association offers memberships to government and for-profit businesses in the state. Some of its members include the Accounting Aid Society, Adult Well Being Services, the Black Arts & Cultural Center, the Charitable Union, Women of Colors and the Tri-County Office on Aging.
