Port Huron City Public Works is one of the departments of the city of Port Huron, Mich. It is responsible for planning, designing and constructing the physical facilities of the city, including infrastructure elements, streets, water and sewage system, and public buildings. The department is involved in constructing and operating new and existing facilities. It is divided into three major operating divisions engineering, streets and utilities. The utilities division is responsible for treatment and distribution of potable water to various customer locations, such as homes, businesses and industries. It is also involved in treatment of wastewater and contaminant removal, and operating storm water and sanitary sewer systems. The department s street division focuses on maintaining pavement line markings, street signage and traffic control devices, disposal of trash, barricading, road closures, detour routes and sealing, asphalt and pothole repairs, and street sweeping.
