Standing on the southwest corner of Nevada and Mount Elliott Street in Nortown Detroit, The 2 Way Inn is the oldest known standing bar in the city of Detroit. The 2 Way Inn at one time had served as not only a bar but also the village jail, a general store, brothel, dance hall, and general dentist among other things. Underneath the now bright white aluminum siding is a historical wooden salon once know to be the only stop around for travelers on their way with goods to sell at the Eastern Market in Down Town Detroit. The 2 Way Inn was designed to have 2 ways in and out of every room in the case of a chase or a angry wife in pursuit of a cheating husband. Owned by many over the years the Malak/Aganowski Family has now owned it near 40 years making them one of the longest owners of the business.
