Founded by Norwegian Lutherans, Augsburg College is one of the oldest Catholic educational institutions in the United States. Located in Minneapolis, Augsburg has been operational for more than 100 years. The college has been approved by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools, National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education, and Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant. Its courses include general, managerial and public accounting, American Indian studies, art history, clinical laboratory and life sciences, business administration, economics, international business, and communication studies. The college also offers majors in English and creative writing, organizational communication, rhetorics, human relations, public relations and advertising, supervisory management, computer science, computational philosophy, political science, education studies, and management information systems.
