Founded in 1858, Winona State University is a comprehensive, regional public university, with more than 8,000 students. It is a member of the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities System, and offers more than 80 undergraduate, preprofessional, licensure and graduate programs. The university has campuses in Winona and Rochester, Minn., offering programs in business, education, liberal arts, nursing and health sciences and engineering. Winona State University provides various facilities, including library, on-campus housing, dining and media center; athletics and sports activities, such as cross country, golf, tennis and baseball; and a range of student services. It also offers outreach and continuing education programs, college for kids, extension programs, travel study options, and camp and conference services.
