Rocky Mountain Development Council, located in Helena, Mont., has been providing social and community-based programs since 1965. It offers a variety of programs, such as the low-income energy assistance program, Head Start, foster grandparents, meals on wheels, senior centers and housing. It provides housing programs to serve traditionally under-served population, such as transitional housing for the victims of sexual and domestic abuse, emergency housing geared to crisis intervention and stabilization and transitional and emergency housing for persons coming out of homelessness, substance abuse and mental health treatment regimens. Its kids meal program offers lunches to children in the summer when school lunch is not available. Rocky Mountain Development Council funds also provide support for homemaker services, legal services, senior farmer's market coupon program, adult protective services referrals, community resource guides, literature and networking with other community organizations and agencies to provide a continuum of service to seniors and their families.
