Founded in 1970, Montclair Elementary School serves more than 600 students in prekindergarten through grade five. It houses a magnet Montessori program that uses a hands-on and independent learner approach and includes a parent-pay preschool option. The school also offers a language-oriented preschool program. Its information center has a collection of over 10,000 reference items. Montclair Elementary School employs two special education teachers to serve students with verified learning disabilities. It additionally employs a reading specialist and a team of paraprofessionals to serve students who need academic support but who do not have a verified learning disability. The school operates a substance abuse-free environment club that conducts discussions on various topics, including effects of illegal drugs, alcohol and tobacco and peer pressure. Montclair Elementary School is a part of the Millard Public School District and is located in Omaha, Neb.
