History
First Friday Las Vegas started as an idea amongst a few friends. After 6 months of planning we had our first event, no expectations. We estimated approximately 300 people had attended. We were amazed. Since that first event FFLV has continued to grow and evolve with each year. It now has a life of its own. While it has been a Las Vegas favorite for many years it seems that the community embraces it even more in our current economy. First Friday celebrated our 9 year anniversary in October of 2011. As the arts community in Las Vegas continues to grow and evolve First Friday grows with it.
Specialties
Since it began in October of 2002, FIRST FRIDAY LAS VEGAS has only continued to grow. It is now considered the premier arts event in Las Vegas. From the shops & galleries on Charleston (the Arts Factory, S2, Place& more) to the new galleries on Main Street (Atomic Todd & others) to the spaces on Commerce St. (Commerce Street Studios), down to the whimsical offerings of The Funk House antique store, & the art galleries & vintage shops in the cottages on Colorado. While many people love to walk the neighborhood particularly now with our new beautiful streetscape on Casino Center, we provide arts tour trolleys that make rounds throughout the area (see First Friday Map on our website) & make pick ups every 20 minutes throughout the evening. And no matter how you decide to get around, you can always expect a diverse crowd, cool local art, live music, street performances & plenty of surprises! firstfriday-lasvegas.org/
