High Sierra Area Health Education Center (AHEC) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to addressing Nevada's healthcare workforce shortages by recruiting, training, and retaining health professionals committed to increasing access to primary care in underserved urban and rural communities. Working in affiliation with the University of Nevada, Reno, School of Medicine and the Office of Statewide Initiatives, High Sierra AHEC develops diverse healthcare workers through innovative workforce initiatives and delivers education, training, and resources at local, regional, state, and national levels.
