Bergen Center for Child Development is a therapeutic school promoting the education and development of children with special needs. Students have the opportunity to grow and reach their potential in a warm and caring atmosphere.
Here at Bergen Center we believe that our students learn through making connections with friends, teachers, and the community. We develop programs to enhance life experience, self esteem, and appropriate behavior. Bergen Center is a non-profit state approved school for children ages 5 - 21.
The goal of Bergen Center is to provide an educational program that allows students to develop their individual potential. We believe that every student can become a vital member of the community. Bergen Center employs an interdisciplinary approach to education. We design individual programs according to the developmental level of each student.
Behavior programs are embedded into the learning environment. Students are encouraged to make connections with friends, the staff, and community members. We value the development of self-esteem. our program provides the opportunity for every student to celebrate the thrill of success everyday.
In August of 1968 Bergen Center for Child Development, Inc. was founded by parents as a school for exceptional students with disabilities. For over 40 years, Bergen Center has continued to offer quality educational programming. Students come from all over New Jersey to experience the unique education offered by Bergen Center.
