The Berkeley Heights Public School District provides a high-quality education to over 2800 students in six schools from grades k-12. Schools include the Mary Kay McMillin Early childhood Center for grades kindergarten through one, Mountain Park School, Thomas P. Hughes School and William Woodruff School (all grades 2-5), Columbia middle school (grades 6-8) and Governor Livingston High School (grades 9-12). Students from the neighboring borough of Mountainside are educated at the high school. All academic offerings are augmented by a program of extra-curricular activities, from intramural and interscholastic athletics to fine arts, student government and academic clubs which are available to all students.
