Daniel R. Schwartz, MD, FACC, FACP, is Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory at Overlook Medical Center and Principal Investigator for the Cardiovascular-Patient Outcomes Research Team (C-PORT) trial, a multicenter coronary angioplasty trial for Overlook Medical Center. As an interventional cardiologist, Dr. Schwartz performs procedures such as coronary angioplasty or pacemaker implantation that can provide immediate and sometimes life-saving benefits for his patients. Also interested in cardiac imaging, he is Founder of the Summit Health Cardiac Computed Tomography (CT) Angiography Center. CareCore National certifies both the Cardiac CT Specialty Center and Dr. Schwartz as a Cardiac Imaging Specialist.Dr. Schwartz is the author or coauthor of articles in peer-reviewed medical journals such as Journal of the American Heart Association and Journal of the American College of Cardiology. Dr. Schwartz has been a speaker on interventional cardiology and computed tomography (CT) angiography at medical symposia and grand rounds at Overlook Medical Center. In 2009, Overlook Medical Center Administration, Overlook Foundation, and Overlook Medical Staff presented Dr. Schwartz with the Clinical Excellence Award for his outstanding patient care and promoting the values and strategic vision of Overlook Medical Center. The Consumer Research Council of America lists him in "America's Top Cardiologists," Castle Connolly lists him in "America's Top Doctors," and New Jersey Monthly lists him in "Top Doctors". Millburn-Short Hills Magazine lists him as a Super Doctor for 2017 and 2018.Dr. Schwartz's personal interests include cycling and golf. He is an advocate for stray and unwanted animals and is a volunteer board member for a local animal shelter.
