Established in 1853, Freehold Raceway is the oldest racetrack in the United States. It features a half-mile racetrack, and has live standardbred harness racing Thursdays through Saturdays, with live simulcasting and betting seven days a week. Admission is free, although there is a parking fee. Visitors can bet on all races, with a full betting guide available on the raceway's website. Freehold Raceay is home of the annual Cane Race, held yearly since 1955. It offers full dining and event facilities, and specializes in hosting meetings, fundraisers, parties and gatherings of all kinds. The live racing season lasts from New Years through the end of May, and September through mid-December.
