Kendal Hanger, MD is a member of Summit Health's Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine team. Dr. Hanger treats infants, babies, children, teens, and young adults. Dr. Hanger began her career in the UK in research science but her craving for human interaction led her to medical school so she could actively treat patients. During medical school, Dr. Hanger served as an anatomy teaching assistant for the local school and an HIV/AIDS testing volunteer. She then completed a pediatric residency in New Jersey.Dr. Hanger's patient care approach is to help children and their parents work as part of a team to understand their health and focus their attention on preventative medicine. "I want to be able to build rapport with my patients and make them feel at ease, says Dr. Hanger adding, I want them to be comfortable enough to bring up any concerns or questions they may have. This is especially important for my teen and young adult patients, who are learning how to take care of themselves and their health," she says. Dr. Hanger is passionate about global health and helping underserved communities. She's written numerous medical articles, lectured about public global health and pediatrics, and teaches everything from newborn care to pediatric microbiology and pathology.When she's not treating kids, Mrs. Hanger enjoys outdoor activities, watching English Premier League soccer, and baking with her family.
