Founded in 1874, the Presbyterian Church of Morris Plains serves about 550 individuals and 350 families. A mission statement provided by the church describes the congregation as follows:
"We are first and foremost a church family called to worship together, pray for each other, nurture each other in faith, support each other in celebrations and sorrows, and grow together in fellowship. In mission we are called to serve those both within our congregation, our local community, and throughout the greater world. "
