Westwood's all volunteer Fire Department answers approximately 280 calls per year, operating 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The department headquarters has been at its current location since 1929, but the building was redone in 2004. The three-story facility houses two engine trucks, a ladder or aerial truck and a rescue truck. In addition to the large garage, the building has office space for the Fire Prevention Bureau, a fire communications room and a state certified training facility where classes, courses and grant writing seminars are held. The department is always looking for volunteers. Call headquarters if you're interested.
