The Church of Scientology of New York is a part of the Church of Scientology International, which provides religious services throughout the world. Founded in 1954, it provides services based on Scientology, which is one of the fastest growing religions in the world. The Church of Scientology International serves maintains more than 4,500 churches, missions and groups that serving millions of parishioners in over 50 languages in nearly 150 countries. Its members organize a variety of anti-drug educational and environmental campaigns. The Church of Scientology International additionally organizes recycling, public park cleanup and graffiti removal projects. Additionally, it owns and operates Citizens Commission on Human Rights, which is a social reform organization that exposes and eradicates criminal acts and human rights abuses by psychiatry.
