History
My bicycle passion and experience goes back at least twenty years, but it wasn't until I began working with Ithaca's community bicycle program (R.I.B.s) that I began learning the technical skills that set me on the path to becoming the mechanic I am today. Almost a decade of wrenching later, I've begun my own bicycle house, with aspirations to eventually become a welder of frames and creator of accessories in addition to the skillsets I already employ. This past Summer I've been operating out of Northstar Saturday Market and doing mobile repairs, which went wonderfully, Later, I moved to a shop and began offering drop off service. With Northstar Saturday Market closed for the season, and mobile repair becoming less of a thing as colder weather prevails, service and sales will be primarily at the workshop location over the colder months.
Specialties
The modification, building, rebuilding, repairing, renovation, and remixing of bicycles, specializing in older models and hardware. Most any job, from rebuilding a wrecked bottom bracket, to patching an inner tube, to building a wheelset, can be done. I also offer assembly of bicycles bought elsewhere. Often a department store or mail order bought bicycle will stay in good repair and adjustment literally years longer if assembled by a professional mechanic.
