We've been in business since 1972 when Lou Holtzman opened the original EastSide Sound on Allen St. In 2001 Lou Holtzman partnered up with Fran Cathcart and we moved to Forsyth St, just a few blocks away.

EastSide Sound is one of the oldest running and last standing full size commercial recording studios in New York City. Founded in 1972 by Lou Holtzman, today it is co-owned by Lou Holtzman and 2 time Grammy Award winning engineer/producer Fran Cathcart. 3 time Grammy Award winning chief house engineer/producer Marc Urselli and engineer Eric Elterman run the studio. The staff of EastSide Sound is committed to providing the highest quality recording experience in New York. EastSide Sound is the ONLY studio you will find with 6 iso booths and a live room. You can record up to 7 musicians completely isolated, with line of sight and individual headphone mixes. Studio A features an analog Harrison console with total digital recall and full automation. Studio B features a production suite and one iso booth for vocal recordings and pre/post-production.
