Farragut Middle School is the public middle school serving grades five through eight in the village of Hastings-on-Hudson. The school was awarded a Blue Ribbon of Excellence in 2007 by the United States Department of Education. The current principal is Gail Kipper. Fifth-grade classes are self-contained, while students in six through eight change teachers throughout the day. Although the school buildings are connected, Farragut Middle School stays separate from Hastings High.
Annually, the students' performance on English/Language Arts standardized tests is among the best in the state. The school offers both accelerated programs for outstanding achievers and special education for those with extra needs.
