A combat decorated Marine Officer and Iraq veteran, CEO and Founder Zach Iscol served as the first officer in charge of Recruiting, Screening, Assessment, and Selection (RSAS) for US Marine Corps Forces, Special Operations Command. This RSAS pipeline is how Marines are found and selected to join special operations. Attrition rates were incredibly high, upwards of 90%, during the first Assessment and Selection Courses- the equivalent of the Navy SEALS Hell Week or the US Army Green Beret's Q-Course. Sending 9 out of 10 Marines away was not an efficient way of building a new unit, and something needed to be done. A team of special operations psychologists were brought in to develop robust personality, cognitive, and record book screening of candidates before they were sent to the Assessment course. Immediately, attrition rates dropped from 90% to 30%. In partnership with Birkman, Hirepurpose leverages this proven methodology to effectively place talented veterans to the right jobs.
