Founded in 1985, Independent Living Association, widely known as ILA, offers residential care services for adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities. It provides long-term care, individualized treatment planning and case management services. Each of the organization s residential facilities includes a kitchen, dining units, bedrooms, and recreation and relaxation areas. It offers clinical assessment, personal care, and 24-hour medical and security monitoring services. Independent Living Association s staff includes a service coordinator, psychologist, administrators, physicians, supervisors, nurses and maintenance associates. With a location in Brooklyn, N.Y., it also provides behavior modification training and medical care coordination services. Additionally, Independent Living Association conducts social and recreational activities, as well as maintains more than 15 intermediate care facilities and several individualized residential alternative units in state of New York.
