Located in New York City, Instituto Cervantes is a nonprofit organization established by the Spanish government in 1991. The organization teaches Spanish in more than 20 countries through more than 40 centers. The institute offers various programs in the Spanish and Hispanic American culture. It offers Spanish language courses at several levels, including elementary, intermediate, advanced and superior levels. The institute also organizes various cultural activities, such as lectures, book presentations, concerts, art exhibitions, The Spain Film Festival and Festival of Flamenco. Its library offers a wide collection of literature in Spanish and audiovisual materials in Spanish language.
