Established in 1993 by the women and AIDS working group, Iris House provides advocacy programs for women, families and communities infected with and affected by HIV. The center offers disease prevention and educational services for clients and at-risk communities. It provides acupuncture therapy for individuals suffering from arthritis, muscle and bone injuries, and other medical conditions. The center also offers housing, financial, nutritional and job placement assistance services. It provides child care, drug treatment and massage therapy services. Iris House offers case management, maintenance support, substance abuse prevention and educational counseling services. In addition, Iris House provides HIV-related information and maintains a presence in New York City.
