Lafayette High School is one of the oldest educational institutions in the United States. Based in Brooklyn, N.Y., the school enrolls more than 3,500 students in grades nine through 12. Operational for more than 100 years, it is approved by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools and Independent Schools Association. Lafayette High School provides individualized and multisensory programs for children with different learning capabilities. It offers special educational programs for students suffering from dyslexia and attention deficit, attention deficit hyperactivity, and speech and language disorders. The school also provides a training and referral center for educators, parents, physicians, psychologists and student interns. Additionally, it has an evaluation center and speech pathology clinic offering language evaluations, screenings, individual and group therapies, and outreach programs.
