When Christ Church and Church of the Redeemer merged in the 1970s, the Parish of Christ the Redeemer was born. Throughout its varied history, this Episcopalian place of worship has remained housed in a church that was built in 1843, while also maintaining that church's original mission: to foster an inviting environment in which to serve God.
Outreach is a priority at this church, which is involved with such organizations as Hudson Link, which prepares inmates of Sing Sing Correctional Facility to lead constructive and meaningful lives when they reenter society; and Carpenter's Kids, which supports Tanzanian orphans suffering with HIV and AIDS.
Affiliated with the Royal School of Church Music, the church offers musical training opportunites for all, ranging from children as young 5 to the church's senior members, with primary, junior and senior choir programs.
