Mani Pal Singh, MD
Mani P. Singh, MD is an Assistant Professor of Sports Medicine in the Department of Rehabilitation and Regenerative Medicine at Columbia University Medical Center in New York, NY. Dr. Singh is dual board-certified in Sports Medicine and in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. He specializes in providing comprehensive, patient-centered, non-operative sports and musculoskeletal care to patients of all activity levels. Dr. Singh completed his undergraduate education at the University of Texas at Austin. He attended medical school at the University of Texas at Houston Health Science Center where he began to develop his interest in sports medicine and optimizing patient-function. He completed his internship at UTHealth Houston in Internal Medicine and his residency in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at NewYork-Presbyterian Columbia/Cornell. He received the Weill Cornell Medical Center Alumni Council Distinguished Housestaff Award during his training and went on to serve as Chief Resident. Dr. Singh then completed his fellowship training in Sports Medicine at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Center. He served as a team physician for local high schools, the University of Colorado Athletics (NCAA Division I), Denver Nuggets (NBA), Colorado Rapids (MLS), Rapids II (MLS Next Pro), and Colorado Mammoth (NLL). He worked closely with the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee (USOPC) Sports Medicine Division in Colorado Springs to provide practice coverage and medical care for Team USA athletes (Women’s Foil Fencing, Men’s Volleyball, Men’s Sled Hockey, Women’s Sitting Volleyball, Wrestling). Dr. Singh has additional experience in Ski/Snowboard Medicine through his training at the Denver Health Winter Park Ski Resort Medical Center. Clinically, Dr. Singh believes in an evidence-based, multi-disciplinary approach to the non-operative management of acute and chronic musculoskeletal injuries, concussion care, and injury prevention. He is a strong proponent of individualized rehabilitation and patient-education for the prevention and recovery of sports-related injuries. He is trained in diagnostic musculoskeletal ultrasound and provides interventional treatments such as ultrasound guided injections, corticosteroid injections, viscosupplementation, platelet-rich-plasma (PRP), needle tenotomy/fenestration, prolotherapy, peripheral nerve injections, and extracorporeal shockwave therapy (ESWT). Academically, Dr. Singh is passionate about medical student and resident education, clinical research, and community outreach. He has published and lectured on a variety of topics related to sports medicine at the local, regional, and national levels. He maintains active membership in several professional societies, including the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (AAPMR), the Association of Academic Physiatrists (AAP), and the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine (AMSSM). He believes that collaboration and clear communication with all members of the treatment team – especially the patient – is of the utmost importance.
