HistoryThe Constance Saltonstall Foundation for the Arts supports New York State artists and writers with fully-funded residencies and subsidized retreat space.SpecialtiesSaltonstall is dedicated to supporting New York State artists and writers. Competitive, fully-funded, stipend-supported 2- and 4-week residencies are offered between May - September. Our five furnished one-bedroom suites are then available for highly subsidized rates to any New York State-based artist or writer between October - April on a first-come, first-served basis. Since the colony is a private retreat space, we are not open to the public on a regular basis. But our office is located on the property, so please feel free to call or email to make an appointment. Depending on the number of people in residence at the time, we'll be happy to show you around. We also offer five Open House | Open Studio events throughout the summer that are open to the community and which coincide with our juried residency program.
