History
Soyulla was formed under the premise that everyone has a place in the arts regardless of any perceived limitations. The concept of Soyulla Artists originated from Director Jae M. Shin's experiences while a student at The Juilliard School. Through a scholarship, she was able to teach children who would not otherwise have had an opportunity to study music. As a result of this program, she also performed for the elderly and those with terminal illnesses and mental illnesses. These experiences showed her the tremendous benefits and healing power of music and the arts. Ms. Shin has since sought out those gifted artists who not only share her passion for the arts, but who also understand the life-changing impact that can be experienced through creative expression.
Specialties
Providing music lessons to students of all ages and skill levels in the NYC area, as well as top-quality performing artists for event entertainment: weddings, parties, holiday celebrations, and more. Soyulla Artists is comprised of three divisions: Private Lessons (our teaching division), Stars! (our performance division), and Center Stage (our educational outreach division). We believe that lessons should be fun as well as educational, and that finding a great match between teacher and student is essential to addressing each individual's strengths, needs, and goals. In-home lessons may be arranged in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Bronx, Queens, or New Jersey; studio lessons also available at various locations. Stars! may be able to travel even farther within the NYC area for performances. Lessons are arranged at a time that is convenient for the student's schedule, around work, school, and other commitments. Weekends and evenings are also available for many teaching artists.
