The Staller Center is the main arts center and performance hall of Stony Brook University. The venue offers the school and surrounding community a range of musical and visual performances including classical symphonies, jazz ensembles, pianists, vocalists, dance troupes and even kids performances. Other attractions at the Staller Center include broadcasts of the New York Metropolitan Opera in HD, the annual Stony Brook Film Festival and the artists-in-residence The Emerson String Quartet. The center includes five stages, including a main theater and a recital hall. It is also adjoined by a 5,000-square-foot art gallery. Tickets for all performances usually hover in the $40 range, with kids shows costing $12.
