The Stecher and Horowitz Foundation considers itself an incubator of talent in the world of classical music. It serves as a conduit to discover, uncover, and present these remarkable young pianists to an audience awaiting the latest musical gems to be unearthed. This concept was inspired by the inquisitive faces we saw pass through the doors of the Stecher and Horowitz School of the Arts for 39 years, in Cedarhurst, New York. Concerned about the road that lay ahead for the many aspiring musicians we trained, we realized that the next chapter in the Foundation's mission was the need to serve as mentors through the flagship program, The New York International Piano Competition. This would create opportunities for these amazing young artists who often lack the means and know-how to pursue a career.
