Founded in 1956, Albert Ellis Institute is a psychotherapy institute. It is a nonprofit organization chartered by the regents of the New York State University. AEI provides education to mental health professionals, self-help workshops and lectures for the public, individuals, couples, families and clinical researchers focuses on rational Emotive and Cognitive Behavior Therapy for providing educational, preventive theory and practice. The psychotherapy teaches individuals how to identify their self-defeating thoughts, beliefs and actions. AEI offers professional programs, primary and advanced certificate practicum, clinical fellowships, supervisory certificate programs and affiliated training centers. The institute has launched the Anger Disorders Treatment and Research Center. The center provides individual and group psychotherapy for anger-related problems and aggressive behavior. The institute also has an online bookstore. AEI is located in New York City.
